A growing data-driven technology company is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to play a key role in building and maintaining a high-quality data platform that powers advanced analytics and AI-driven systems.
This is a highly investigative role suited to someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, identifying anomalies, and improving data structures so that both humans and machines can rely on the information they consume.
You’ll join a team modernising their data platform on Google Cloud, working with technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, SQL, and Python to transform messy, real-world datasets into well-structured, machine-readable data.
The Role
You’ll act as the bridge between data analysis and engineering, proactively identifying data quality issues, investigating root causes, and implementing technical solutions that improve reliability and transparency across the platform.
Alongside solving complex data problems, you’ll help design and evolve the underlying data models so that datasets are structured for automated analysis and AI-driven systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve data anomalies before they impact downstream systems or users
- Perform deep-dive analysis into complex datasets to identify root causes of inconsistencies
- Build and maintain SQL-based transformations and Python scripts to improve data quality
- Design and evolve data models that enable scalable analytics and AI-driven use cases
- Work closely with technical and senior stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable improvements
Requirements
- Strong SQL expertise and experience working with complex analytical queries
- Experience using Python for data processing, transformation, or automation
- Background working with modern data platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or similar)
- Experience modelling structured datasets within a data warehouse environment
- Strong analytical mindset with a natural curiosity for investigating data issues
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and senior stakeholders
