Staff Data Engineer

Staff Data Engineer | SQL, Python, AI-Ready Systems | Up to £150k, Remote

We’re hiring a Staff Data Engineer to work directly with senior stakeholders of a company building one of the world’s largest data platforms.

This role is focused on solving complex, real-world data problems not dashboards or standard analytics. This is a high-impact IC role with real ownership over core data systems.

You’ll be working with messy, multi-source data (global company and ownership data), and will own how that data is structured, cleaned, and made usable across the business and for AI systems.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing robust data models for complex, inconsistent datasets
• Handling challenges like deduplication, identity/entity resolution, and data quality
• Building scalable pipelines with SQL, Python, and modern data tools
• Structuring data so it’s reliable, explainable, and AI-ready (LLMs/RAG)

What they’re looking for:

• Strong SQL + Python experience
• Background in data engineering or analytics engineering at scale
• Experience working with messy or multi-source datasets
• Someone who cares about data quality, correctness, and real-world meaning
• Bonus: experience in fintech, risk, identity, or similar complex data domains
