Lead Engineer
NOTE:
- Candidates are requested to Work from Office 5 days a week – Onsite, they will be visiting the client location.
- Candidate should have hands on experience in API solutions, including REST and microservices.
The Role
As a Lead Engineer, you will act as a senior technical contributor responsible for shaping technical direction, solving complex engineering challenges and guiding a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. You will bridge hands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring best practices, effective collaboration and continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead a feature team in delivering high-quality product features.
• Apply and promote software engineering best practices within the API engineering team.
• Develop solutions that align with the organisation’s overall technical strategy.
• Collaborate within Agile frameworks to optimise team processes and enable rapid, iterative
delivery.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
• Strong knowledge and experience in modern software engineering practices and processes.
• Deep experience in designing, developing and managing API solutions, including REST and
microservices.
• Exposure to API Management Platforms (e.g., ApigeeX, API Connect or similar).
• Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and practices for building secure solutions.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider: GCP, Azure or AWS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated engineering leadership and stakeholder management capability.
