Project Manager - Security Operations Centre

Project Manager - Security Operations Centre (SOC)

Location: UK (remote-first with occasional site travel)

3-4 Month Initial Contract Outside IR35

We’re supporting a global manufacturing organisation at a critical point in its cyber maturity journey. With strong board sponsorship and a newly appointed Group Head of Information Security in place, the next priority is to design and stand up a fit-for-purpose Security Operations Centre (SOC).

To support this, we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the SOC from concept through to operational readiness.

The Role

This is a hands-on delivery role focused on building a SOC in a complex, multi-site environment. You’ll work closely with the Group Head of InfoSec, IT leadership, and third-party providers to define scope, manage delivery, and ensure the SOC is stood up effectively and sustainably.

You’ll be responsible for turning strategy into execution, managing timelines, dependencies, vendors, and stakeholders while keeping the programme moving at pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a Security Operations Centre (SOC), from design through to go-live
  • Define and manage the SOC programme plan, milestones, risks and dependencies
  • Coordinate internal IT, security, infrastructure and OT stakeholders
  • Manage third-party vendors, MSSPs and tooling partners
  • Support selection and implementation of SOC tooling (e.g. SIEM, SOAR, detection and response platforms)
  • Ensure clear operating models, processes and handovers into BAU
  • Track progress, manage issues, and report clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Support the Group Head of InfoSec in embedding governance, controls and operational cadence

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering complex cyber or SOC programmes
  • Strong project management background (technology or security-focused environments)
  • Experience working with SOCs, SIEM, MSSPs or security operations tooling
  • Comfortable operating in low-maturity or transformation environments
  • Confident managing senior stakeholders and technical teams
  • Strong vendor and third-party management experience
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused and able to cut through ambiguity

Nice to have:

  • Manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments
  • Exposure to OT security or hybrid IT/OT estates
  • PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or equivalent project delivery experience
