Python Developer

We're seeking a skilled software engineer to help modernise and strengthen our internal systems. This role centres on revitalising legacy infrastructure with an emphasis on robustness, security, and long-term maintainability. You'll be instrumental in updating software components, streamlining deployments, refining system architecture, and ensuring high-quality testing. Future scope may include leveraging this infrastructure to support advanced testing capabilities across our product suite.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyse and map out the current internal tooling and infrastructure
• Determine areas requiring upgrades or architectural improvements
• Update legacy systems to current standards, resolving compatibility issues and applying thoughtful refactoring
• Ensure continuity and minimal disruption for teams relying on these tools
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to shape and refine technical designs
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including those at Cisco, to integrate shared tooling
• Build and deploy new infrastructure components where needed
• Automate build and deployment pipelines for efficiency and reliability
• Maintain clear documentation for system architecture and deployment processes
• Conduct thorough testing of updates and new deployments
• Expand automated test coverage, including unit and integration tests
• Continuously assess and propose enhancements to improve performance and usability

What We're Looking For

• Solid background in software engineering and deployment practices
• Strong proficiency in Python; familiarity with C++ is a plus
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
• Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Git
