Cabling Apprentice

A Cabling Apprentice will support our Cabling Installations team while undertaking a structured apprenticeship programme with the industry-leading provider. This is a great opportunity to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to become a successful Copper & Fibre Optic Cabling Engineer within the Data Centre industry. 

Role

  • To learn and apply company standards, installation methods, and quality requirements through shadowing, hands-on practice, and formal assessments.
  • To attend all required training, team meetings, and site briefings to support continuous learning and integration into the team.
  • To assist Cabling Engineers with the installation, splicing, and testing of singlemode and multimode fibre optic cabling under direct supervision.
  • To assist with the installation, termination, and testing of copper cabling systems, including Category 6 UTP and STP cabling, coaxial cables, in line with training modules and work instructions.
  • To support the testing and labelling of installations, accurately recording results for review and approval by a qualified Cabling Engineer or Supervisor.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties aligned with the learning objectives of the apprenticeship and the needs of the business.
