System Engineer - Cyber Security and Networks
System Engineer - Hybrid with at least 1 day a week in our Canning Town office - E16
Role Profile:
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. You'll be working in a part of Telent that is dedicated to maintaining the UK wide rail network. Our customers include Transport for London, Network Rail and a host of Train Operating Companies.
Reporting to the Lead System Engineer the system engineer will be responsible for delivering project upgrade works mainly across Transport for London and Network rail infrastructure.
Acting as the systems engineer for customer's project, you will be responsible for undertaking all technical aspects of projects with a focus on cyber security . This will include managing the production of design packages for minor works and major works for new and existing system upgrades, ensuring all works are carried out to the correct standard, working with the project management teams to scope out new works.
Typical Deliverables:
Strong experience in System design, integration and testing some or all of the following technologies. The ability to understand and carry out system upgrade works on all Station communications systems
Station Management Information Systems
Operational Technology - working to 62443 standards
Cyber security - Cisco
Operational and Security CCTV (Analogue and IP)
Customer Information Systems and Displays
Public Address including, Voice Alarm and Induction Loops and SIP
Passenger Help Points
Cisco - Data Networks
OPO/TtT CCTV Systems
Good Rail knowledge / Experience
Business Operations Skills - Experience:
Extensive knowledge across the communications systems will be essential to be able to hit the ground running. Desirable but not essential is experience working across the rail sector.
Business Operations Skills - Qualifications:
Degree or HNC in Engineering related subject (desirable)
IRSE License (desirable)
Behavioural Requirements:
You will be an effective communicator (both written and verbal)
Proven experience within a communications systems with a minimum of 3 years experience.
Demonstrable emotional intelligence to communicate effectively and positively with customers and colleagues in a challenging environment.
