Senior Business Development & Partnership Manager

HSE Training & Digital Learning (SaaS)

About the Role

We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Business Development & Partnerships Manager to accelerate growth across our client's HSE training SaaS platform, digital learning content, and wider consulting offerings. The core focus of this role is selling a scalable, subscription-based HSE learning product, alongside tailored training programmes and advisory services, into high-risk and regulated industries.

You will take ownership of commercial relationships with existing partners, drive new logo acquisition, and help shape the go-to-market strategy for a growing HSE learning technology business. The role will involve selling digital training subscriptions, enterprise learning pathways, and blended learning solutions into organisations operating across data centres, oil & gas, energy, engineering, and construction.

You will act as a trusted commercial lead, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders across global operators, EPCs, construction firms, and technical service providers, while also rolling up your sleeves to execute outbound activity, manage pipelines, and close deals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities for the HSE training SaaS platform and learning solutions across data centres, oil & gas, energy transition, engineering, and adjacent sectors
  • Sell subscription-based digital learning products, enterprise training licences, and blended learning programmes
  • Develop industry-specific go-to-market plans, pipeline targets, and sector insights to support platform adoption and revenue growth
  • Lead high-quality outreach, discovery calls, product demonstrations, proposals, and solution presentations

Partnership & Account Growth

  • Own and expand relationships with channel partners, training distributors, industry bodies, and strategic alliances
  • Drive cross-selling and upselling of new digital content, compliance modules, customised learning pathways, and consulting add-ons
  • Work with partners to align roadmaps, co-develop learning solutions, and unlock recurring SaaS revenue streams
  • Ensure customer retention, renewals, and account expansion opportunities are actively managed

Commercial Leadership

  • Contribute to overall sales strategy, SaaS pricing models, partner frameworks, and enterprise deal structures
  • Own pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting across subscription, project, and consulting revenue
  • Support contract negotiations, enterprise licensing discussions, and multi-year agreements
  • Represent the business at industry events, client briefings, and partner workshops

Product & Learning Expansion

  • Provide commercial input into the development of new HSE micro-learning products, compliance modules, and sector-specific learning pathways
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and delivery teams to shape client-facing learning solutions
  • Identify opportunities to extend the platform into operational readiness, behavioural safety, workforce competency, risk management, and transformation programmes

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 5–10+ years' experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial roles
  • Proven track record of selling training solutions, digital learning platforms, SaaS products, consulting, or technical services
  • Experience selling subscription-based or recurring-revenue products
  • Demonstrated success building and expanding partner ecosystems
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders (HSE Directors, L&D Leaders, Operations Leadership, EPC Project Managers, Data Centre Build Leads)
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and solution-selling capability
  • Commercially strategic, with a hands-on approach to execution

Desirable

  • Experience selling into data centres, oil & gas, energy, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors
  • Understanding of HSE, compliance frameworks, workforce competency, or training accreditation models
  • Experience with enterprise or multi-site accounts
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales methodologies
