Now, we're looking for our first Head of Data, Analytics & Insight - someone ready to turn a blank canvas into a high-performing data function that powers every part of our business.

The Opportunity

This is a foundational role. You'll design and build Tembo's entire data ecosystem - from pipelines and models to dashboards and insight - and use it to drive decisions across product, marketing, and finance.

You'll be our in-house data strategist, systems builder, and internal consultant - turning complex data into clear stories that shape growth, product innovation, and profitability.

What You'll Do

• Own Tembo's data strategy end-to-end - infrastructure, governance, insight, and activation
• Design and build data pipelines and architecture (from Postgres, MS SQL, Customer.io, Mixpanel, etc.) into a unified warehouse/lake
• Quantify product success: partner with product managers to define metrics, measure experiments, and uncover user behaviour patterns
• Enable marketing activation: identify and segment audiences for CRM and campaign personalisation
• Work with finance to analyse and model the makeup, performance, and risk of our savings book
• Deliver insight that informs strategy across growth, product, operations, and leadership
• Lay the foundation for a scalable analytics function - and grow a small team over time

About you

• Proven experience building a data platform from scratch in a fast-growing tech or fintech environment
• Strong technical background in SQL, Python, and modern data tooling (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker/Tableau)
• Comfortable joining disparate data sources into a coherent schema and single source of truth
• Analytical depth - able to design experiments, measure impact, and translate numbers into narrative
• Commercial intuition and cross-functional influence - trusted by Product, Marketing, and Finance alike
• A bias for action and a love of building things that scale
