Youll be part of a talented, collaborative Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for the global Linux estate supporting mission-critical systems.

What Youll Do

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day management and stability of the organisations global Linux/Unix infrastructure, spanning on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Build, optimise, and secure AWS environments using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks for provisioning, patching, and configuration management to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex systems and performance issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with development, cybersecurity, and business teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant infrastructure solutions.
  • Support ongoing modernisation projects, including cloud adoption, infrastructure optimisation, and system integrations.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity exercises to ensure readiness across all critical systems.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions around infrastructure design, capacity planning, and future platform evolution.

What Youll Need

  • Strong background in RHEL/Linux systems administration and automation
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and related services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS)
  • Expertise in Terraform, Puppet, Foreman, and Unix shell scripting
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, NTP, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise server hardware (HP, Dell) and storage technologies
  • Familiarity with virtualisation and containerisation (VMware, Docker)
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Desirable: Experience in financial services environments, CI/CD tooling, database technologies (SQL, Sybase), and exposure to Azure.
