Senior IT Business Analyst (Agile) – Energy Sector
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Contract: 6 months (with potential extension)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a data-focused initiative aimed at enhancing analytics, reporting, and cloud-based capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications
- Assess current processes, systems, and data flows to identify improvement opportunities
- Develop strong business cases and support prioritisation and funding decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned to business needs
- Lead stakeholder workshops and design sessions
- Ensure full traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Define and coordinate testing, including creation of acceptance criteria
- Support Agile delivery and promote Agile best practices across stakeholders
- Provide leadership and direction on Business Analysis activities across the project
Key Requirements
- 7–10 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst
- Strong experience working in Agile environments (frameworks, tools, and ways of working)
- Proven ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in data-heavy or system transformation projects
- Strong documentation and requirement gathering skills
- Experience leading Business Analysis activities and small teams
- Degree in IT or related discipline
- Previous energy sector experience is essential
Desirable Skills
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile certifications
- Experience with Lean methodologies
