AI Engineer - Outside IR35 - Remote

We're looking for an experienced AI Engineer to design, build, and scale production-grade agentic systems. This role focuses on developing intelligent, tool-using agents that operate reliably in real-world environments-not just prototypes.

You'll work at the intersection of LLMs, orchestration frameworks, and modern backend systems to deliver robust AI-powered applications.

• Design and build AI-powered applications using agentic workflows
• Develop and orchestrate multi-agent systems with clear communication and task delegation patterns
• Implement structured output handling and tool-use integrations
• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and REST APIs
• Ship production-ready agents with reliability, monitoring, and performance in mind
• Integrate agents with external tools, APIs, and MCP servers
• Establish observability for AI systems, including tracing, cost monitoring, and failure detection
• Develop evaluation and testing frameworks for agent performance and reliability
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful AI-driven features

• 3+ years building AI-powered applications or agentic systems
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent) as a primary workflow
• Strong experience with multi-agent orchestration and tool integration
• Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and Node.js
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Proven track record of shipping AI agents to production environments

• Experience with MCP server development or agent-to-tool integration frameworks
• Familiarity with observability tools for AI workloads (e.g., tracing, cost tracking, failure analysis)
• Exposure to e-commerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) product environments
• Experience building agent evaluation, testing, and benchmarking systems
