AI Specialist (Data Governance) - Inside IR35 - Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced AI Specialist with a strong foundation in data governance and responsible AI practices. This role is critical in helping our client establish effective governance over their rapidly expanding use of AI tools and capabilities.
You will play a key role in defining, shaping, and embedding AI governance frameworks, while also advising on best practices for AI consumption, prompting strategies, and operational usage. The environment is complex, with multiple external consultancies engaged, requiring excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills to align on a cohesive approach.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement AI governance frameworks, policies, and controls to ensure responsible and compliant use of AI technologies
- Provide subject matter expertise on AI principles, including model behavior, limitations, risks, and ethical considerations
- Advise on best practices for AI consumption, including prompt engineering, user interaction models, and safe usage patterns
- Assess current AI usage across the organization and identify governance gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align on AI strategy, standards, and ways of working
- Facilitate workshops and working groups to drive adoption of governance frameworks and AI best practices
- Act as a bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party consultancies
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legal, and organizational data governance requirements
- Support the development of AI usage guidelines, training materials, and communication plans
Essential:
- Strong understanding of AI/ML principles, including generative AI and large language models
- Proven experience in data governance, risk management, or responsible AI frameworks
- Deep knowledge of AI consumption patterns, including prompt engineering and user interaction models
- Experience establishing governance in environments with decentralized or rapidly growing AI usage
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders
- Strong supplier/vendor management experience, particularly in multi-partner environments
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical audiences
Desirable:
- Experience with AgentForce or similar AI orchestration / agent-based platforms
- Familiarity with industry frameworks for responsible AI (e.g., fairness, transparency, accountability)
- Experience working alongside major consultancies in large-scale transformation programs
- Background in regulated industries or environments with strict compliance requirements
