Contract Analytics Engineer Role - Fully Remote - £650/pd
We're currently seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join a high-performing data team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a fully remote opportunity offering £650 per day Inside IR35.
This role sits within a mature Analytics Engineering function responsible for delivering trusted, scalable, and business-critical data products. You'll play a key role in designing and maintaining analytical datasets that empower both technical and non-technical stakeholders through modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake and Looker.
The RoleWorking closely with Analytics Engineering leadership, Data Science teams, and Product Engineering functions, you'll be responsible for creating clean, well-modelled, tested, and documented datasets that drive business insights and decision-making.
You'll help shape data architecture and transformation processes, ensuring that source systems support downstream analytics requirements while delivering high-quality data products used across a large user community.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain scalable, high-quality data products and analytical datasets.
- Develop, optimise, and support SQL-based transformation pipelines.
- Design and implement robust data models aligned with analytical requirements.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure source data structures support reporting and analytics use cases.
- Create denormalised and aggregated datasets for business consumption.
- Deliver intuitive data products and reporting layers through Looker.
- Support the ongoing optimisation, governance, and adoption of Looker as a strategic business intelligence platform.
- Ensure data solutions are thoroughly tested, maintainable, and aligned to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to improve accessibility and usability of data products.
- 6+ years' experience within Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or Data Engineering.
- Advanced SQL development and optimisation skills.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional data modelling.
- Proven experience designing and building analytical datasets and reporting structures.
- Experience working with cloud-basedMPP data warehouse technologies such as:
- Snowflake
- BigQuery
- Redshift
- Demonstrable experience delivering scalable data solutions within modern analytics environments.
- Previous experience within the Advertising Technology or Digital Advertising sector.
- 2+ years' experience working with Looker or a similar modern BI platform.
- Strong knowledge of version control and collaborative development practices.
- Experience with SQL-based ETL/ELT frameworks and workflow orchestration tools.
- Python development skills for automation, integrations, or data engineering tasks.
- Experience consuming or integrating with APIs, ideally the Looker API.
- Experience building and promoting self-service data products for business users.
