Please note - this is a hybrid role. You will be required to travel to London 1-2 times per week. You must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role - this organisation is not able to offer sponsorship.

The Role

As a Senior GenAI / NLP Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering production-ready AI solutions for a major UK financial services organisation. You'll work across modern technologies including AWS Bedrock, LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, vector embeddings and document processing to develop scalable solutions that automate the review and extraction of complex compliance information.

You'll work closely with architects, engineers, data specialists and business stakeholders to design robust GenAI pipelines, optimise retrieval and model performance, and ensure solutions meet the security, governance and reliability standards expected within a regulated environment. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including Amazon Bedrock, Claude, OpenSearch, LangChain and AWS AI services, helping take GenAI solutions from design through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise RAG pipelines for complex and unstructured documents.
• Design and implement agentic AI and multi-agent workflows, including tool use, guardrails and human-in-the-loop processes.
• Work with Amazon Bedrock and LLMs, including Claude, to deliver production-ready AI solutions.
• Build vector and hybrid search capabilities using technologies such as Amazon OpenSearch.
• Develop document processing and extraction pipelines using OCR and AWS AI service.
• Develop LLM evaluation and testing frameworks, measuring accuracy, retrieval performance, precision, recall and confidence.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver secure, scalable and production-ready GenAI solutions, contributing to testing, CI/CD, observability and deployment.

About You

You will be a Senior GenAI / NLP Engineer with strong experience delivering production AI/ML solutions across cloud environments. You'll have hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, vector embeddings and model evaluation, alongside technologies such as AWS Bedrock, Python and OpenSearch.

You'll be comfortable working with unstructured data and document processing, and enjoy solving complex technical challenges to build secure, scalable and production-ready AI solutions.

Key requirements:

• Strong professional experience in GenAI, NLP, AI/ML Engineering, or a similar role, with experience delivering production-ready solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic AI, vector embeddings, and model evaluation.
• Proven experience with AWS, particularly Amazon Bedrock and foundation models such as Claude.
• Strong Python development skills, with experience building and maintaining AI/ML pipelines.
• Practical experience processing unstructured and document-based data, including PDFs, scanned documents, OCR, or NLP.
• Experience with vector and hybrid search technologies, ideally Amazon OpenSearch Service.
• Experience designing AI agents and workflows using tools, guardrails, human-in-the-loop processes, and robust error handling.
• Experience with LLM evaluation and testing, including accuracy, precision, recall, confidence, and ground-truth assessment.
• Experience working within regulated or security-conscious environments, particularly financial services, would be advantageous.
