Product Owner - Remediation & Data Platforms

Contract | Outside IR35 | £622.50 per day Location: UK-based (predominantly remote with occasional London travel)

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Owner to join a high-profile regulatory remediation programme within the financial services sector. This role is suited to someone who combines strong product ownership capability with a solid understanding of data-led solutions and remediation processes.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, prioritised, and delivered effectively, acting as the crucial link between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of remediation-focused product delivery within a regulatory programme environment
  • Define and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business and regulatory goals
  • Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear, actionable user stories
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
  • Act as a conduit between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams
  • Validate that outputs meet both business expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Support delivery phases including implementation, go-live, and post-release activities
Required Experience
  • Demonstrable experience operating as a Product Owner or Product Manager within Financial Services
  • Strong exposure to remediation programmes (e.g. redress, customer rectification, regulatory change)
  • Experience working in regulated environments (ideally UK-based)
  • Proven track record of managing stakeholders across business and technology functions
  • Delivery-focused mindset with the ability to drive outcomes in complex environments
Technical & Domain Knowledge
  • Good understanding of data platforms and data-driven delivery approaches
  • Ability to engage confidently with technical teams including architects and engineers
  • Familiarity with concepts such as data pipelines, warehouses, or large-scale data processing environments
  • Previous exposure to remediation solutions built on modern data platforms is highly desirable

Additional Information
  • Initial contract expected to run for 6-9 months
