This is a senior-level opportunity aimed at experienced Data Architects operating at Senior level within financial service environments. The role sits within a globally established consulting organisation that partners with leading asset managers and wealth firms on large-scale, business-critical data and AI transformation programmes.
The focus is on shaping enterprise data architecture that underpins analytics, AI enablement and regulatory confidence. You'll have real influence over architecture direction, operating models and strategic decisions, working with senior client stakeholders on complex, high-value engagements.

The role
As a Data Architect, you'll lead the design and delivery of modern, cloud-based data architectures for Investment Management and Wealth clients. You'll balance deep technical credibility with strong stakeholder engagement, helping clients translate business and investment strategy into scalable, AI-ready data platforms.
This is an architecture and leadership role, strategy, design and influence first, rather than day-to-day coding.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise and target data architectures for IM & Wealth clients
- Design data platforms that support analytics, AI and regulatory use cases
- Lead architecture decisions across ingestion, storage, modelling and consumption
- Shape data governance, lineage, quality and security frameworks
- Act as the senior technical authority on client engagements
- Lead, mentor and develop data architects and delivery teams
- Engage with senior stakeholders to align data strategy with business objectives
- Support proposition development and shaping new transformation work

What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Data Architect / Enterprise Data Architect
- Strong background in Investment Management, Asset Management or Wealth Management
- Deep understanding of IM data domains
- Experience designing cloud-based data architectures
- Strong knowledge of data governance, controls and regulatory requirements
- Experience working in or closely with, consulting or transformation teams
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and leadership teams
Experience enabling AI and advanced analytics through data architecture is important; hands-on model development is not.
