I am working with a highly successful, private equity-backed organisation that is investing significantly in its data and technology capabilities. As part of a major transformation project, the business is building a modern Microsoft-centric data platform and establishing data as a strategic asset across the organisation. They are now looking for a Data Architect to take ownership of the enterprise data architecture, helping shape the future of reporting, analytics, AI and data-driven decision making.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join during a greenfield phase of the journey, giving you the opportunity to define standards, influence technology choices and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver a scalable and future-ready data platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop enterprise-scale Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architecture
  • Define and deliver the organisation's data platform strategy
  • Create scalable data models, storage frameworks and architectural standards
  • Establish data governance, security and access management frameworks
  • Design modern data integration and transformation pipelines across multiple data sources
  • Implement CI/CD standards and deployment processes for data products and platforms
  • Drive best practice across data architecture, performance, scalability and reliability

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise Data Warehouse architectures
  • Expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform technologies and modern Lakehouse architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog and Delta Lake
  • Strong SQL and PySpark skills
  • Experience implementing Medallion Architecture principles
  • Knowledge of data modelling methodologies including Star Schema and Data Vault
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security and access management frameworks
