Data & Development Lead - Bicester/Hybrid - £95k

About the Role

We're seeking a highly capable and inspirational Data & Development Lead to join our Data & Innovation team. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical delivery with strategic oversight. You'll guide a small team of specialists to deliver high-quality data engineering, automation, and systems development solutions that support our evolving business needs.

You'll be instrumental in shaping our internal data and systems landscape, ensuring it's scalable, modern, and aligned with our strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3 specialists across data engineering, automation, and systems development.
  • Define and maintain scalable internal data and systems architecture.
  • Design and deliver complex engineering solutions with a focus on best practices.
  • Execute hands-on technical development and change initiatives.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure cohesive system design and integration.
  • Align team efforts with prioritised initiatives for timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Foster a culture of growth, confidence, and performance within the team.
  • Partner with IT Operations, business stakeholders, and the wider Data & Innovation team.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in data engineering and system development, especially with Databricks, Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, and M365.
  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms like Workday and Monday.com is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities in agile environments.
  • Comfortable with both hands-on technical execution and strategic planning.
  • Deep understanding of data integration, automation, and system design.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Salary: £95,000
  • Location: Bicester (3 days/week in office)
