Data Engineer - Databricks - AWS - London (Hybrid) - Up to £65,000

You will work with

  • Modern cloud-based data platforms with a strong focus on Databricks and AWS
  • Cross-functional teams including analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
  • Analytical workloads supporting performance, commercial, and strategic use cases
  • Scalable, production-grade data pipelines and cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines
  • Manage and optimise cloud storage and data warehousing
  • Ensure data quality, security, lineage, and maintainability
  • Design and implement analytical data models to support reporting and advanced analytics
  • Balance batch and streaming ingestion approaches based on use case requirements
  • Contribute to engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD and documentation

Key Experience

  • Strong SQL and Python, including query optimisation and window functions
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark
  • Strong understanding of data modelling (3NF, dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, data vault concepts)
  • Experience designing and operating ELT/ETL pipelines
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, SLA monitoring and lineage tracking
  • Experience with Snowflake and dbt
  • Proficiency with AWS
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD and testing
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments (Jira, Confluence)
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn
  • Interest in sport, media, or entertainment is a strong plus
