We are working with a growing professional services organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in its data and technology capabilities. With data playing a central role in decision-making across the business, there is a strong focus on developing a modern, scalable data platform that supports reporting, analytics and operational performance.

As part of this investment, they are looking for a Data Engineer to join their expanding Data team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building robust data solutions and working with modern cloud technologies. You will play a key role in developing and optimising data pipelines, ensuring high-quality, business-ready data is available across the organisation.

The role offers exposure to the latest Microsoft Fabric and Databricks technologies, with responsibility spanning data ingestion, transformation, Lakehouse development and platform optimisation. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help deliver scalable data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics and future data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, supporting the ongoing development of the organisation's modern data platform.
  • Develop and maintain Medallion Architecture data layers, ensuring data is available for reporting and analytics.
  • Create high-performance data transformations using PySpark, Databricks and Fabric Notebooks.
  • Implement data governance and access controls through Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes using Git integration and Databricks Asset Bundles.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working professionally within a Data Engineering environment, delivering reliable and scalable data solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.
  • Strong programming capability across PySpark and T-SQL.
  • Experience working with Delta Lake, Lakehouse architectures and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Understanding of data quality frameworks, testing approaches and governance principles.
