Up to £80,000 + Bonus - Newcastle

We are currently partnering with a high-growth, technology-driven organisation building a world-class engineering and data capability in Newcastle.

This business is scaling rapidly and investing heavily in modern data platforms, cloud technologies and advanced analytics, delivering solutions into complex environments. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing a centralised data platform, designing and building scalable pipelines, and ensuring high-quality, reliable data is available to support critical business decisions.

Responsibilities

You will join a collaborative and high-performing data team, working closely with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable data solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources
  • Developing and enhancing a central data platform, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability
  • Maintaining and improving data quality, integrity and availability across systems
  • Writing and optimising SQL and Python-based transformations
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and adoption of modern data technologies

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Data Engineering role within fast-paced, delivery-focused environments
  • Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL
  • Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes and data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or modern data tools
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
