Data Engineer - Databricks - Newcastle - Up to £85,000

The role

You'll join a Data team responsible for building and maintaining a central data platform that supports critical business and investment decisions.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Designing and building data pipelines from multiple external sources
  • Building and optimising data pipelines using Databricks and Python (PySpark)
  • Developing, testing, and maintaining a scalable data platform
  • Ensuring data quality, reliability and availability
  • Working closely with stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability
  • Continuously improving systems using modern data and analytics tools

What they're looking for

  • 4+ years' experience in a Data Engineering role
  • Proficiency in Python (essential)
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (essential)
  • Strong experience building data pipelines
  • Experience working in cloud-based data environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Confident working in a collaborative, team-based environment
