We're partnering with a growing professional services organisation that plays a critical role in delivering large-scale infrastructure, engineering and environmental projects across the UK. As the business continues to invest heavily in technology and innovation, data is becoming increasingly central to how decisions are made and services are delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing Data & Innovation function where you'll have genuine influence over the evolution of the company's data platform. Rather than stepping into a heavily siloed environment, you'll have the autonomy to identify improvements, tackle technical challenges, introduce best practices and help shape the future direction of the data estate.

You Will Work With
- Designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines within Databricks.
- Building and optimising ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion and transformation.
- Supporting and enhancing a business-critical reporting and analytics platform.
- Developing SQL and Python/PySpark-based data solutions.
- Managing and optimising SQL database environments, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability.
- Collaborating with Data Analysts, BI professionals and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Supporting data modelling, warehousing and platform optimisation initiatives.
- Driving improvements in automation, documentation, development standards and CI/CD practices.

Key Experience
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer.
- Strong commercial experience with Databricks.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with complex relational databases.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong Python and/or PySpark development experience.
- Experience with SQL Server or similar database technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
