Data Engineer
Data Engineer - Oxfordshire - Hybrid (2 days) - Up to £60,000
We're working with a UK-wide consultancy operating across environmental and infrastructure sectors who is looking to bring a Data Engineer into its expanding Data and Innovation team.
Data now sits at the heart of how this business makes decisions and delivers for its clients, and there's real investment behind that in both technology and people. It's a strong opportunity for a Data Engineer who enjoys working close to the platform.
The Role
- Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines in Databricks
- Developing and optimising ETL/ELT processes across ingestion, transformation and integration
- Building data solutions in SQL, Python and PySpark
- Monitoring and improving data quality, reliability and platform performance
- Supporting SQL database administration, maintenance and optimisation
- Tuning queries, indexes and execution plans where performance matters
- Contributing to data modelling, warehousing and wider platform development
- Working alongside Data Analysts, BI colleagues and stakeholders across the business
- Helping mature automation, documentation, development standards and CI/CD practice
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with Databricks
- SQL server experience
- Solid Python and PySpark skills
- Experience using MS stack, Azure and Spark
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps
