Data Warehouse Developer (Kimball/OLAP Cubes) - SC Cleared
Contract: 1-Month (Discovery Phase)
Location: Fully Remote (UK-only)
Clearance: Active SC Required

We're looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Developer with strong expertise in Kimball modelling, OLAP cube development, and modern cloud data platforms. This short discovery engagement will assess the client's current BI architecture and provide recommendations on future-state warehouse design, modelling strategy, and cloud platform readiness. This is a 4 week disovery project and will lead to potentially further work after the fact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the discovery phase, reviewing current-state data warehouse, ETL processes, and reporting architecture.
- Assess existing OLAP cubes and make optimisation, redesign, or migration recommendations.
- Evaluate the organisation's readiness for cloud-based data warehousing and analytics.
- Produce a detailed discovery report outlining findings, risks, and next steps.
- Engage with technical and business stakeholders to validate requirements.
- Provide guidance on future-state architecture, including cloud integration strategy.
Additional Scope to Follow
- Specific systems and data sources in scope.
- Detailed deliverables for the discovery phase.
- Timeline, milestones, and required outputs.
- Cloud migration considerations and feasibility analysis.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong practical experience with Kimball dimensional modelling.
- Hands-on expertise with OLAP cube development (SSAS Multidimensional or Tabular).
- Strong SQL and ETL/ELT development capabilities.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms, such as:
- Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Analysis Services, Data Lake)
- AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3)
- GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Previous delivery of discovery/architectural assessment engagements.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
- Active SC clearance (mandatory).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP architecture design patterns.
- Power BI or other BI visualisation experience.
- Background in consulting or short-term advisory pieces.
