Enterprise Data Architect
A professional services firm who are scaling rapidly through acquisition, are looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to join their team in Stoke on Trent as they embark on a major transformation.
With ambitious growth plans, you'll join during phase 1 of a multi-year strategy to unify and modernise their data, cloud, and tech set-up, including the move from on-prem legacy systems to the cloud (which will most likely be Azure).
Reporting into their new CIO/CTO, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing their enterprise-wide data strategy - requiring visionary thinking, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and also brilliant hands-on technical ability.
Please note this role is fully office-based, 5 days a week in Stoke on Trent, in line with their highly collaborative and close-knit culture. They are able to pay for accomodation if you don't live close enough to commute on a daily basis.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assessing the current data estate across on-prem, cloud, and legacy systems
- Designing and implementing a scalable, future-proof data architecture
- Leading the migration from legacy tools (e.g., SSIS, SSRS) to modern platforms like Azure Data Factory and Power BI
- Collaborating across cloud, tech, and data teams to align strategies
- Enabling the business to become AI-ready by optimising data flows and governance
- Getting hands-on to deliver your strategy - this isn't just a whiteboard role!
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect in a complex, multi-system environment
- Strong technical background with the ability to roll up your sleeves when needed
- Experience with Azure (or cloud-agnostic mindset)
- Deep understanding of data integration, modernisation, and governance
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
This is a permanent role, and offers a salary of up to £120,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
