We're working with a forward-thinking company supporting major insurance clients, who are looking to bring in a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to help deliver modern data and analytics solutions across the P&C domain.

This is a great opportunity to work at the cutting edge of Microsoft's data ecosystem, helping insurers unlock value from complex datasets across underwriting, claims, and portfolio performance.

The Role

You'll play a key role in designing and building scalable data platforms within Microsoft Fabric, taking ownership from ingestion through to insight delivery. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you'll help shape solutions that drive smarter decision-making across the insurance lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering end-to-end data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, from ingestion through to reporting and visualisation
  • Building and optimising data pipelines using Fabric tools (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks/Spark)
  • Developing robust lakehouse and warehouse architectures within OneLake
  • Creating Power BI datasets and dashboards to support core insurance use cases
  • Integrating Fabric platforms with policy, claims, and other core insurance systems
  • Applying best practices around data modelling, performance optimisation, and governance
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and data privacy standards
  • Supporting the use of AI and advanced analytics within the Fabric ecosystem
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in data engineering or analytics development (circa 4+ years)
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric or closely related technologies (Synapse, ADF, Power BI Premium)
  • Strong Python or PySpark skills for large-scale data processing
  • Solid SQL/T-SQL capabilities and experience working with data warehouses
  • Good understanding of P&C insurance data (e.g. policy, claims, exposure, premiums)
  • Experience building Power BI models and dashboards (including DAX)
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture approaches, particularly lakehouse patterns
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices in a data environment
  • Understanding of data governance and regulatory frameworks within financial services

Desirable: Microsoft certifications such as DP-600 or PL-300
