Senior Data Engineer
Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake, SQL, Python & Power BI - Up to £85,000
If you're a Data Engineer who's tired of building pipelines without seeing how they're used, this could be a great opportunity to do something different.
I'm working with a growing organisation that's investing heavily in its data capabilities and looking for someone to help shape the next chapter of their data journey. They've expanded significantly in recent years, have ambitious growth plans backed by substantial investment, and are building a modern data platform to support that growth.
What stood out to me about this opportunity is the chance to build something that lasts. Rather than maintaining a mature environment that's already been perfected, you'll be joining at a stage where there's real opportunity to influence the direction of the platform, improve how data is used across the business, and help create a more data-driven culture.
The leadership team sees data as a key driver of growth and operational improvement, giving this role excellent visibility across the organisation.
You Will Work With
You'll join a small team that's focused on bringing together several existing data processes and platforms into a single, scalable environment.
Your role will include:
- Building and enhancing a Snowflake-centric data platform
- Refactoring existing Python and SQL processes into a cleaner, more scalable architecture
- Working across data transformation and modelling within the Silver and Gold layers
- Improving data quality, governance and reliability
- Supporting Power BI reporting, semantic models and analytics solutions
- Partnering with stakeholders across finance, operations and marketing to understand requirements and deliver meaningful insights
- Helping the business move beyond reporting and towards better decision-making through data
- Contributing to the ongoing evolution of the wider Azure and Microsoft Fabric data estate
There's strong analytics focus within the role, so whilst engineering skills are important, you'll also enjoy working with the business, understanding the numbers and helping teams get more value from their data.
Why Join?
This is a business that's growing quickly and investing in the future.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Play a key role in a major data transformation programme
- Work closely with senior leadership and decision makers
- Build solutions that will directly support business growth
- See the results of your work across the organisation
- Join a company where people genuinely care about the service they provide and the people they support
- Be part of a collaborative team that wants to build things properly rather than rushing decisions
For someone who enjoys ownership, influence and the chance to leave their mark on a platform, it's a particularly exciting challenge.
