Senior Data Engineer - Remote - £65,000
My client are a leading Microsoft Partner, they are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in delivering the technical components of client projects. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, but also carries wider responsibilities around project ownership, collaboration, and team development.

Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver full end-to-end data solutions including ingestion, engineering, modelling, analytics, and visualisation.
- Lead workshops with customers to gather requirements and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Synapse.
- Migrate on-premises SQL Server workloads to the cloud and define modern, future-proof architectures.
- Build high-quality dashboards and reports using Power BI to enable data-driven decision making.
- Take ownership of delivery workstreams, manage resources, and mentor junior engineers to promote knowledge sharing.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, manage expectations, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Requirements
- Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and internal teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience in data engineering or data warehouse development using Azure and SQL Server technologies.
- Strong ability to design and build ETL/ELT solutions using Azure services such as Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, or Fabric.
- Solid understanding of data lake design, medallion architecture, and large-scale data processing.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills (queries, stored procedures, notebooks).
- Experience with MDX/DAX and familiarity with Analysis Services.
- Good working knowledge of Power BI and BI/data warehousing concepts.
