Senior Post Production Systems Administrator

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days on-site)

Salary: £80,000 + Bonus & Benefits

A progressive and reputable global full-service creative studio is seeking a Senior Post Production Systems Administrator to join its London-based Technology team.

This is a highly collaborative and technically hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in complex, creative environments. You’ll support infrastructure and workflows powering high-end VFX, colour, editorial, and finishing projects, working closely with Artists, Engineers, and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as technical owner for London’s post production infrastructure, supporting hybrid workflows across multiple sites.
  • Provide escalation-level systems support
  • Support and maintain render farm environments, particularly using Thinkbox Deadline.
  • Build and maintain custom tools and infrastructure for colour, editorial, finishing, and VFX teams.
  • Administer and monitor storage systems (e.g., NetApp, Qumulo) and high-performance networks (e.g., Arista, Mellanox).
  • Maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, and Docker.
  • Manage Linux-based environments, cloud instances (e.g., AWS AMIs), and business continuity services.

Core OS & Infrastructure:

  • Strong Linux system administration
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory (AD) and Apple systems
  • Experience with VMware vSphere
  • Use of HP Anyware and Pixit Pixstor (or other GPFS-based storage systems)
  • Experience managing hybrid environments

Automation & Cloud:

  • Ansible for automation
  • Use of Terraform, Docker
  • AWS AMI creation and management

Creative/VFX Tools (must have extensive experience):

  • Experience supporting:
  • Maya
  • Houdini
  • Nuke
  • Thinkbox Deadline
  • Flame
  • Baselight
  • Resolve
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Avid Media Composer

Monitoring/Tooling:

  • Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, Graylog
  • Python/Bash scripting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Linux or relevant systems administration certifications (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Linux+).
