Solutions Architect - Inside IR35 - Hybrid Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Engineer to join our growing data team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions using modern cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on AWS and Snowflake. You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making by delivering robust, efficient, and reliable data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using the AWS data integration stack, including S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions
  • Build and optimize data models and transformations using Snowflake and dbt Core
  • Implement and manage Change Data Capture (CDC) processes using tools such as Qlik Replicate
  • Design and develop AWS-hosted APIs to support data access and integration requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Prepare and present architectural designs and solutions at governance and review forums
  • Ensure secure and efficient cloud-to-on-premises network connectivity and data flow
  • Work with both cloud-based and legacy/mainframe database technologies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices and standards
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, Step Functions)
  • Proven experience working with Snowflake in a production environment
  • Solid experience with data transformation tools such as dbt Core
  • Experience implementing Change Data Capture solutions (e.g., Qlik Replicate)
  • Experience designing and building APIs hosted on AWS
  • Understanding of cloud networking, particularly cloud-to-on-premises routing
  • Familiarity with cloud and mainframe database technologies
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
Desirable Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience presenting technical designs to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and best practices
