Data Analyst

Join Thames Water as a Data Analyst in our Credit Risk Analytics team and help shape smarter, faster decisions that drive real results.What you’ll be doing as a Data Analyst You’ll turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, helping to strengthen credit risk strategies and improve how we manage and collect revenue. You’ll play a key part in upgrading our reporting and unlocking smarter ways to track and manage performance. - Lead the development of credit and portfolio MI to support strategy changes through data insight and performance analysis.
- Monitor key portfolio data and provide regular reporting, including deep dives to understand trends and variances.
- Provide insight to support the Bad Debt Transformation programme, recommending improvements and tracking impact.
- Support the transition to a data lake, creating new SQL-driven reporting tools and maintaining strong data governance.
- Work closely with stakeholders to promote data-driven decision-making within the Income function.
- Act as a subject matter expert in credit risk and collections, shaping and improving strategic execution.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a data analytics role, turning data into real-world results and driving smarter business decisions.
- Strong SQL skills – confident in writing efficient queries and building clear, reliable reports.
- Great with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to support everyday analysis and communication.
- A natural collaborator – able to work across teams and translate complex data into simple, actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and exposure to cloud data platforms like Azure Data Lake, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of credit risk, utilities, or financial services is a bonus.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in a data-focused subject, with skills in Python or R as a nice-to-have for data modelling and visualisation.
- Competitive salary from £48,000 to £55,000 per annum.
- 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 days with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
