Operational Technical Lead
We have a great opportunity for you to join as a Technical Lead for the System Risk Assessment Team at Thames Water. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the heart of Water Systems Performance. You will gain extensive skills and knowledge in the operation of our vast clean water hydraulic system, from source to tap.It is the responsibility of the Technical Lead to take operational ownership of the hydraulic system risk assessment workstream (Permit to Work) for repair and maintenance activities.The successful candidate will have uncompromising attention to detail and an enduring commitment to our regulatory health and safety, water quality, customer supply & leakage targets.You will provide operational direction and support to a team of Risk Analysts, ensuring they are technically capable of delivering reliable solutions to complex problems, while maintaining service level agreements with internal stakeholders.What will you be doing as an Operational Technical Lead?
- Provide technical leadership to Risk Analysts, helping to develop and train the team to a high standard. Supporting the Risk Analysts with the completion of hydraulic system risk assessments.
- Take ownership of Key Performance Indicators and implement strategies to achieve goals in an environment with changing workloads and demands.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators are met to a high-quality standard.
- Analyse data and deliver reports and information to meet business needs in a timely fashion to the relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in internal and regulatory risk assessment processes and standards.
- Follow and comply with company Health & Safety procedures, auditing practices and record keeping.
- Perform root-cause analysis and propose strategies to prevent future failures/ non-compliance.
- Provide Coaching and Mentorship to the Risk Analysts and support the training of other Thames Water colleagues.
- Support improvements of defined business processes and lead innovative new ways of working.
- Hold Operational experience or relevant STEM Discipline/water experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Have a competent IT skillset. Capable of collating and analysing of qualitative/ quantitative data to resolve problems and drive team/business performance.
- An excellent communicator who demonstrates strong leadership skills and an ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Experience working with GIS mapping systems, SCADA telemetry, Saleforce’s and PI/Aorta whilst being proficient Microsoft applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Offering a salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
