The Solution Engineering team provides specialised IT Engineering services to clients for a wide variety of purposes. These range from deployment of new onsite network, storage or server infrastructure, configuration and integration of cloud infrastructure, deployment of end user devices through to onsite technical support for existing systems.

JOB SPECIFICATION: L3 Solution Engineer
As an L3 Solution Engineer you will visit customers on site UK wide to carry-out consultancy, installations & support, work on re-delivery configuration and testing of servers and workstations to customer specifications. Help with unpacking and setting up of servers and workstations onsite.

• Receive fault reports, diagnose, and provide solutions quickly.
• Evaluate new products & technologies when requested.
• Produce report on every visit detailing work done, outstanding work and issues to projects team.
• Acquire customer sign off for all completed projects.
• Assist Technical Support & Sales with queries and problems when necessary.
• Assist and develop more junior engineers to work more efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain current knowledge of hardware and software and a detailed knowledge of the XMA Product range.
• Strive to improve the efficiency of the department by reviewing and improving the current procedures and providing recommendations / feedback.
• Provide Technical input into new opportunities; gathering & clarifying Requirements from the client.
• Creating and updating scope of work documents, and low level designs.

REQUIREMENTS: L3 Solutions Engineer

As a Level 3 role we are looking for an exposure to multiple fields and need to see experience / certifications in several of the desirable areas, specifically those in networking and virtualization. Specific vendor knowledge with Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, VMware and HyperV are required. Useful if:

• Experience working in a Prison IT environment.
• Experience delivering and supporting end user compute environments, at least one of; Microsoft / Apple / Google.
• Experience of device image deployment solutions such as, Intune, SCCM, MDT, etc.
• O365 deployment/Azure technologies
• Experience working in a School IT environment.
• Experience of MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions.
• Experience deploying server & storage solutions, on premise and cloud.
• Virtualization; Hyper-V / VMware.
• Backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Networking – switching and routing, VLAN configuration, Wireless configuration and surveying.
