GIS Specialist (Wayfinding)

About The Role:

A globally recognised design consultancy that are a leader in their field – specialising in wayfinding, spatial strategy, and information design is seeking a confident and proactive GIS Specialist to join their London team on an initial 6-month contract with opportunity for extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organising geospatial data, producing high-quality mapping outputs, take a leading role in the strategic phase of projects, and supporting spatial analysis to ensure information is accurate, accessible and effectively utilised across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain geospatial datasets to support mapping and network analysis
  • Produce clear, accurate and visually engaging map outputs for both print and digital applications
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into well-structured GIS databases
  • Build, maintain and organise cloud-based geospatial data, ensuring appropriate permissions and accessibility
  • Establish logical data structures, naming conventions and best practices for project information
  • Collaborate with designers and project teams to understand spatial data requirements
  • Support efficient GIS workflows across multiple projects and stakeholders

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a GIS or Geospatial role
  • Proficient in QGIS and Python
  • Experience managing cloud-based GIS databases and spatial datasets
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Degree qualified in GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
  • Experience with GIS within wayfinding highly advantageous
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or web mapping technologies would be advantageous, along with an interest in the built environment and user-focused design
