Job summary

The IT Departmentis responsible fordelivering Information Technology to theDudleyandSandwellGroup NHS Foundation Trust. In addition, ITis responsible fordelivering revenue generating IT services to other NHSorganisationsand private enterprises involved in the delivery ofHealthcare.

The Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be an experienced applications/systems support specialist providing expert advice and solution design skills to users along with the management of the Applications Support Specialists.

The SME will provide project leadership and 2ndLine applicationssupportcoordination.

The post holder will be a key member of the IT Systems team who currently provideon-goingsupport with regards to new and existing clinical and non-clinical applications/systems across the Trust.

The IT Systems Team alsoundertakebusiness analysis, design,developmentand implementationin regards tovarious internal development requests and 3rdparty vendor solutions.

Education and qualifications

Essential
  • Degree in IT or business related subject and/or equivalent experience
  • ITIL Foundation
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation

Skills and experience

Essential
  • Extensive experience in a senior role within a professional IT environment planning, installing, maintaining, and supporting business applications
  • Application incident and problem management skills
  • Excellent systems and business analysis skills
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
  • Knowledge of business change process analysis and design techniques
  • Knowledge of business process documentation techniques
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Experience of supporting NHS IT applications
