JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Python/ Hx Renew Developer (Contract)

LOCATION: London/ Hybrid

 

The Role:

The pricing transformation project has seen five models go live in hx Renew so far and ambitious plans for 2025/ 26 to design, build, test and implement a number of new models in addition. This role will provide additional bandwidth to the existing pricing and development teams to enhance hx Renew model delivery timelines.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Pricing Model Development:

  • Transfer existing pricing models from Excel based workbooks into hx Renew replicating all functionality
  • Build intuitive, responsive user interfaces that underwriters can use seamlessly in their day-to-day underwriting
  • Ensuring models are built in Renew in line with established principles to maintain synergies and consistency in data capture and design across models
  • Ensuring documentation of technical pricing models is built into hx Renew and kept up to date
  • Development of wire frames in collaboration with the pricing actuaries and underwriters
  • Coding the model logic within Renew using Python, translating actuarial concepts into code
  • Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure models built in Renew are designed with consideration for third-party system integrations (where applicable)
  • Supporting the pricing team to develop best practice coding practices, including peer reviewing of others code
  • Migrating historical data to hx Renew where appropriate
  • Testing and validation of model functionality and results within hx Renew
  • Assist in platform upgrades, patch deployment and tool migration as required by version update cycle

 

Essential:

  • Strong background working in the Insurance or Reinsurance sector
  • High standard of Python
  • 1+ years' experience building pricing models in Hx Renew
  • Insurance and Lloyd's knowledge
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in sprints
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
  • Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel
  • Programming/engineering/science/maths background
  • At least two years' experience within a related role
