Software Engineer – Node.js & Microservices

💰 Salary : Up to £52,000

📍 Location : Hybrid – Woking (3 days onsite per week)

💡 Your Role:

We’re on the lookout for a talented Software Engineer with a solid grounding in Node.js , microservices , and RESTful APIs . You’ll be joining a collaborative product team, shaping complex digital systems that improve lives across the UK. From high-availability cloud platforms to AI-powered integrations, you’ll be at the heart of meaningful technology delivery.

💡 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Developing scalable backend services using Node.js and Moleculer microservices .
• Creating and consuming RESTful APIs to support integrated platforms.
• Supporting and enhancing enterprise-grade digital solutions across healthcare and housing.
• Collaborating with a cross-functional team of developers, product owners, and tech leads.
• Participating in code reviews, writing clean unit tests (e.g. with Jest), and contributing to system architecture discussions.

💡 What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js development.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture and tools like Moleculer .
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs , MongoDB/Redis , and MySQL .
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and MVC patterns .
• Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, JQuery).
• Version control using Git .

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with ColdFusion / Lucee, PHP, or container tools like Kubernetes.
• Exposure to React or interest in working with frontend frameworks.
• Knowledge of AI/LLMs, accessibility, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Azure and load-balanced server environments.
