DevOps Engineer

Financial Services organisation is hiring for a DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Azure DevOps Services. This is a permanent role based in the City on a hybrid basis, offering a salary of £80K - £100K depending on experience. You will join a high-performing engineering team supporting the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable, and high-availability environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve DevOps practices using Azure DevOps Services (Repos, Boards, Pipelines, Artifacts).
  • Define and enforce VCS best practices and branching strategies.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Bicep, Helm, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Manage hybrid environments across Linux and Windows, including scripting, app security, and certificate management.
  • Configure and support Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory integrations for developer workflows.
  • Design and deploy containerised applications using Docker/Podman, with a focus on failover and clustering.
  • Deliver resilient, multi-national/multi-region infrastructure and services.
  • Manage enterprise schedulers and CI/CD pipelines for production workloads.
  • Implement centralised logging/monitoring with platforms like Grafana, Datadog, or App Insights.
  • Integrate and manage code quality and security tooling (SonarQube, Black Duck, etc.).
  • Oversee network security, secrets management, and documentation practices (Confluence/Wiki).

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in DevOps roles, with at least 2-3 years specialising in Azure DevOps Services.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience with tools like Bicep, Helm, PowerShell, Bash.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, infrastructure security, and identity management.
  • Proven experience in deploying enterprise-grade cloud-native solutions with high availability and performance.
