Job responsibilities
Technical Task Delivery
- Carry out routine and moderately complex technical tasks within defined procedures, following training and competency assessment.
- Apply technical knowledge to operate equipment, systems, tools, or processes safely and efficiently.
- Use judgement to resolve routine issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance when performing allocated tasks, ensuring safe and consistent service delivery.
- Support the setup, operation, maintenance, or monitoring of technical systems, equipment, software, or stock (specific to clinical or non-clinical setting).
- Complete routine checks, testing, or quality assurance activities as directed.
- Identify basic faults or issues and take appropriate action within defined parameters, escalating when required.
- Ensure work areas, equipment, and materials are maintained to required standards
Information Recording & Data Quality
- Accurately record technical activities, data readings, inventory movements, system updates, or other required information.
- Maintain documentation, logs, and records in line with organisational procedures, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
- Identify inconsistent, incomplete, or unexpected data and report issues to senior colleagues
Communication & Customer/Service User Support
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, service users, and stakeholders, providing routine technical information where appropriate.
- Support users or team members by offering basic guidance, troubleshooting, or instruction within area of competence.
- Escalate non-routine or complex enquiries to senior technicians or supervisors.
Operational Support & Service Efficiency
- Contribute to daily workflow management by completing allocated tasks reliably and on time.
- Support stock control, asset management, or supplies replenishment to maintain service continuity.
- Follow health and safety, governance, infection control, or data security procedures relevant to the environment.
- Assist with preparing work areas, materials, or equipment to support smooth operations
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a positive, efficient, and safe working environment.
- Support new or less experienced team members by sharing knowledge and demonstrating correct procedures.

Qualifications
- Good general standard of education such as GCSEs or equivalent
- Relevant technical training, certification, or competency-based learning for Pharmacy
- Willingness to undertake further technical training and development
