Senior Business Analyst Cloud

What You’ll Do

You’ll begin by supporting the Cloud Adoption programme – helping modernise our infrastructure, reduce legacy complexity, and guide analysis around databases, applications, and hosting environments. You’ll collaborate with architects, project leads, and SMEs to shape smart, scalable decisions.

This first assignment is technically complex but business-led – involving cloud migration, data centre transition, and rationalisation of systems and software. And once it’s delivered, you’ll pivot into other high-value change initiatives across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Strategy & Leadership

• Shape business direction through stakeholder conversations and structured analysis• Champion quality practices and contribute to team-wide improvement• Apply agile, lean, and hybrid delivery methods based on project context• Identify opportunities for automation and simplification using M365 tools

Analysis & Delivery Support

• Lead discovery and analysis through workshops, mapping sessions, and documentation• Produce clear, traceable requirements and user stories aligned with business goals• Support planning for low-code solutions, platform migrations, and stakeholder engagement• Assist architects in shaping scalable platforms and contribute to visual aids where needed• Align outputs with enterprise architecture and IT strategy• Assist with UAT support, defect triage, and readiness checks• Contribute to experience design via persona work or journey mapping

Governance & Collaboration

• Support compliance alignment, audit-readiness, and data protection standards• Collaborate with vendors and partners for smooth delivery• Keep technical and business teams connected through clear communication

What You’ll Bring

• Cloud Project Experience - Confident supporting infrastructure migration, database consolidation, and application transitions – especially in Azure or SaaS contexts• Legacy Rationalisation Background - Experience contributing to rationalisation projects is strongly advantageous - particularly across complex estates• Estate Analysis & Simplification - Able to interpret multi-layered dependencies and assist in shaping migration strategy• Cloud-Aware Analysis - Understands IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models, hybrid hosting, and key components like ExpressRoute from an analysis perspective• Application Portfolio Evaluation - Familiar with migration frameworks like 6R (Rehost, Re-platform, Rearchitect, Repurchase, Retire, Retain), and able to facilitate decision-making workshops with stakeholders• Governance & Documentation - Strong requirements documentation, stakeholder engagement, and support for structured governance processes• Stakeholder Engagement - Comfortable leading discussions across SMEs, architects, and delivery teams• Visual Communication - Skilled at creating diagrams, workflows, and storyboards to simplify complexity and support stakeholder understanding• Adaptability - Quick learner, able to adjust across changing domains – this cloud project is the start of a broader transformation journey
