We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking IT Operations Manager to lead the delivery of secure, reliable, and high-performing technology services within a purpose-driven organisation committed to improving lives across the UK.

About the Role

As IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of IT service delivery, infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations. Leading a small but highly skilled team, you'll ensure systems are resilient, secure, and aligned with organisational priorities.

You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to translate business needs into technology solutions, while maintaining high standards of operational performance, governance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of reliable, secure, and user-focused IT services across service desk, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing IT operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring effective governance, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive cybersecurity assurance activities, including security testing, risk management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance reporting.
  • Lead major incident management, coordinating technical response and stakeholder communications.
  • Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure organisational resilience.
  • Establish and monitor service management frameworks, including SLAs, KPIs, incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and managed service providers, ensuring value, performance, and accountability.
  • Support the successful delivery of technology projects and organisational change initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings a combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

You'll have:

  • Significant experience leading IT operations across service desk, infrastructure, and cybersecurity functions.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies.
  • Experience managing suppliers, contracts, and managed service providers.
  • A proven track record of improving IT services through effective service management practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Strong understanding of IT risk management, business continuity, and operational resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant technical certifications in Microsoft, Azure, networking, or cybersecurity disciplines would be advantageous.
