Legal and Compliance Officer
An award winning, growing, innovative technology business is looking to hire a commercially minded Legal & Compliance Officer to support the next phase of its development. This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and key business areas, helping to manage legal risk, strengthen governance, and ensure compliance across a complex, international operation.

Key Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including supplier, distribution and service agreements
Manage the full contract lifecycle and support commercial teams with risk assessment
Lead on compliance across key areas including data protection, export controls and corporate governance
Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
Conduct risk assessments and support internal audits
Provide practical legal advice to stakeholders across the business
Support HR with employment law matters and policy development
Assist with intellectual property management, including patents and trademarks
Manage relationships with external legal advisors
Support corporate governance activities, including company records and board documentation
Skills & Experience Required
Solid experience in a legal, compliance or risk-focused role
Strong background in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Good understanding of regulatory frameworks, including data protection
Ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to non-legal stakeholders
Confident working across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with a commercially aware mindset
Desirable
Experience within a defence, technology, engineering or manufacturing environment
Exposure to international trade or export controls
Understanding of intellectual property processes
Experience supporting compliance programmes or internal audits
