Senior Test Engineer

About the Role

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Development, Quality, and Business Support teams to enhance product quality and testing efficiency across a diverse portfolio. No two days are the same - you’ll be involved in everything from hands-on functional testing to the evolution of automated frameworks and mentoring junior colleagues.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Designing, writing, and executing functional, regression, system, and performance tests.
  • Verifying software and hardware solutions to ensure they meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
  • Maintaining test environments, tools, and documentation for quality tracking.
  • Developing and improving automation frameworks and scripts to enhance test coverage.
  • Participating in design and requirements reviews to provide testability insights.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the testing function.

This role involves occasional international travel - a valid passport and full UK driving licence are required. Travel expenses are covered.

Please note: this position may require Security Clearance in the future.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in both manual and automated testing of complex or embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of test planning, defect management, and quality documentation.
  • Experience using automation tools and test management systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a critical eye for detail.
  • Eligibility for UK security clearance (minimum 3 years UK residency).

Nice to have:

  • ISTQB certification.
  • Experience in telecommunications, embedded systems, or mission-critical applications.
  • Knowledge of network or communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation frameworks.
