Principal Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineer to join a prestigious Technical Operations team. In this role, you will lead the design of a new multi-region, highly available, cloud-based deployment of applications on AWS's Kubernetes Platform (EKS). This opportunity allows for collaboration across engineering teams, shaping infrastructure strategy, and contributing to a dynamic and innovative environment.

The Expertise We’re Looking For:

  • Several years of AWS experience in production environments
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes workloads on AWS (EKS)
  • Skill in creating and deploying Helm charts & libraries
  • Specialist in AWS CloudFormation, IAM, VPC, and network security
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, Datadog, Splunk
  • Proficiency with Unix operating systems and shell scripting
  • Programming experience, preferably Python
  • Familiarity with CDN Providers, e.g., Akamai
  • Knowledge of the agile software development lifecycle
  • Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines, e.g., JenkinsX

The Purpose of the Role:

As a key member of the Technical Operations team, the successful candidate will contribute to a cloud migration initiative. We're seeking an adaptable engineer who can tackle new challenges, work effectively in Agile environments, and ideally, has knowledge of cryptocurrencies.

The Skills You Bring:

  • Strong AWS experience, including cross-account management and IAM.
  • Expertise in crafting and maintaining logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  • Proclivity for automating solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and lead SRE teams.
  • Experience with multi-region, multi-AZ infrastructure deployments.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
