Technical Project Manager

  • South Cork City - 3 days onsite
  • 12 month rolling contract
  • €550 - €600 per day

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join a global organisation with a major presence in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a multi-year, international programme of work.

The role requires a strong background in IT project delivery within global, matrixed organisations, with experience leading multiple workstreams and working across different cultures and time zones. Prior technical experience with infrastructure (Network & Compute), SAP-based warehouse management systems, and a background in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Role Overview

As Technical Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead project planning, design, and execution phases, including Stage Gates.
  • Manage risks, stakeholders, escalations, and present updates to steering committees.
  • Produce weekly status reports, governance packs, and project communications.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across global sites to ensure timely updates.
  • Support and mentor other project managers or staff performing PM functions.
  • Oversee project pipelines and interdependencies through portfolio forums.
  • Engage with the Global PMO and strategy teams on new initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with project management audit controls.
Essential Criteria
  • 7+ years’ IT Project Management experience leading projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record managing multiple projects and presenting to leadership teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Office 365, PPM tools).
  • Comfortable using Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Solid technical understanding of IT delivery projects (Compute, Network, Software Solutions).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Project Management qualification (PMI, PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience mentoring and leading validation phases of projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in complex, global, matrixed environments.
