Digital QI Practitioner
Job summary
To work closely with IT project teams and programme/project managers, to plan and to deliver digital change and improvement on time and within budget, through a process including setting goals, objectives, resources, milestones and measures of success which deliver significant change, using Qi methodology to support this. To work closely with IT and clinical staff integrating a new EPR to the Trust. To provide day to day support for the users, and diagnose and remedy any errors or malfunctions of the system, providing feedback to IT project leads or relevant clinical person. Encourage good communication from the wards to IT service desk for business as usual issues. The post holder will be expected to liaise with all relevant Colleagues throughout the bed base and in outpatient areas in order to contribute to the clinical functionality within the clinical systems. The post holder will be expected to actively write and review aspects of clinical digital safety for clinical IT systems and ensure that any safety related issues raised by the IT / Clinical Leads are clearly defined or elaborated, and reported to the Senior Digital Clinical Safety Officer to ensure clinical safety measures, controls or risk mitigation are documented and put in place. The post holder will support the Qi team where workload overlaps which includes delivery of Qi training to all levels of staff within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must have a relevant and active NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration pin number.
Lead and manage improvement activities from a clinical perspective to digitise paper health records by setting clear objectives, timelines and success measures.
Provide day-to-day clinical support: troubleshoot system issues, liaise between wards/departments and IT and feedback the appropriate information.
Collaborate with Nursing, Medical and AHP colleagues to help with the design and testing clinical functionality within digital systems.
Review and escalate any clinical digital safety issues appropriately, ensuring risks are mitigated and documented throughout the project lifecycle
Help facilitate training and floor-walking during go-lives which includes occasional out of hours and weekend working to support the end users.
To drive digital projects from initiation to business as usual, setting objectives, milestones and success metrics.
Act as the clinical expert when liaising with IT, troubleshooting system issues and feeding back enhancements to project teams.
Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to aid the trust moving from paper based to digital workflows.
To facilitate the identification and agreement of improvement opportunities/future state for measuring the improvements agreed and made.
Out of hours and shift work on multiple Rotherham hospital sites to support services and system go lives is an expectation of the role.

Experience
- Experience of co-ordinating multiple complex projects and workstreams
- Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders on complex management streams in Health Care.
- Significant experience of working in health or Social Care, understanding the responsibilities priorities and strategic direction and understanding of national agendas.
- Experience of successfully operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment.
- Experience of facilitating change using improvement methodologies on a daily basis using the appropriate methodology, tools and skills depending on the requirement at the time.

Knowledge
- Expertise in Quality Improvement or Digital improvement including the creation of project proposals and business case development.
- Working knowledge of NHS policies and national agendas.

Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification in Quality Improvement or Digital Clinical Safety
- Digital clinical safety Essentials and Intermediate level training as a minimum
- Prince 2 or equivalent project management qualification and significant experience of project and programme management technique.
