EPR PMO Lead

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a PMO Lead.

To ensure project and programme outputs are delivered effectively including the monitoring and reporting of progress for the EPR Programme. This will include maintaining strong governance processes and standardisation of documents for projects and overarching transformation team governance, highlighting any potential impact on delivery/achievement of benefits.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will establish the key quality and performance functions for the EPR Programme, as well as the administration of all aspects of management information required from the PMO team. The role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of management reporting, supporting the programme delivery and planning in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls, and resource constraints.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree level education or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of experience.
  • oFormal project/programme management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, APM PMQ).
Desirable
  • oPMO-specific training (e.g., P3O)

Experience

Essential
  • Significant experience working within a PMO, programme, or portfolio management environment.
  • Strong experience of RAID, change control, dependency and portfolio reporting.
Desirable
  • Experience of NHS digital change programmes.

Knowledge

Essential
  • Knowledge of how PRINCE2 methodologies fit into a governance framework.
  • Extensive knowledge of documentation and version-control discipline.
  • Knowledge of how to develop, implement and embed delivery frameworks.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of NHS Trust governance processes.

Skills

Essential
  • Ability to create high-quality portfolio, executive and board-level reporting.
  • Ability to mentor, guide and support project managers and project teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building ability
Desirable
  • Competent in MS Project, Azure DevOps, Planner, and/or PMO tooling.
