Patient Experience Digital Officer (FFT/Insight)

Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Patient Experience Digital Officer to join our Patient Experience, Engagement and Insight Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in understanding and improving patient experience across The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. Using patient feedback, experience data and insight, you will help inform decision-making, support service improvement and ensure the voice of patients is at the heart of what we do.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with data and reporting systems, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to a wide range of audiences. You will be passionate about using data and insight to drive improvements in patient care and experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the co-ordination and reporting of patient experience intelligence, including the Friends and Family Test (FFT).
  • Lead the Trust's Friends and Family Test (FFT) reporting processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative patient feedback to identify trends, themes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce accurate and meaningful reports, dashboards and presentations for a range of stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to support decision-making and service improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development of patient experience reporting systems and data quality processes.
  • Use SQL and other reporting tools to extract, validate and analyse information from multiple data sources.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Desirable
  • ICDL (formerly ECDL) or equivalent qualification/experience in use of Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential
  • Relevant experience in an information role.
  • Relevant experience in developing complex queries and reports.
  • Awareness of the Data Protection Act and Information Governance requirements.
Desirable
  • Relevant experience of working with acute and community datasets.
  • Relevant experience in health information management, working with clinicians and managers in successfully implementing local and national information requirements.
  • Wider understanding of the clinical, performance and business information needs within a health economy.

Skills and Aptitudes

Essential
  • Required to have advanced keyboard skills for inputting and manipulating data and information into computer databases and systems.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, in particular Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Experience of using SQL, and other related database tools.
  • Proven ability in the presentation of written and verbal reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels and groups of staff on information related issues.
